As a humanities discipline philology focuses on the study of literatures and languages of particular nations, civilizations and cultures. Programmes of study in philology contain such subjects as, for instance, history of literature, theory of literature, history of language, grammar and language culture.
Faculty of Philology offers programmes of study in all language families.
