Fulbright Advanced Research Awards 2013-2014

Application deadline: 29 June 2012

The scholarship programme is funded by the Governments of Poland and the United States.

Fulbright Advanced Research Awards are addressed to Polish citizens with an on-going appointment at an institution of higher education or a research institution in Poland who plan advanced research in the U.S. research or higher education institution of their choice. An applicant must have a doctoral degree (or, in the case of an applicant from a school of film, fine arts, music, or theater, the equivalent in professional training or experience). The scholarships are from 6 to 12 months. The application deadline is 29 June 2012. The candidates who received their doctoral degree after 2002 and have not participated in other scholarship programmes in the US for the last five years are favoured.

The scholarship can be awarded from August 2013 to August 2014. The scholarship winner receives from $3000 to $3500 a month to cover the cost of living, $1500 for the return plane ticket, and $1500 for the costs of relocation, travel, and academic aids. If the scholarship recipient is accompanied by a/some family member(s) (spouse, children no older than 21) for at least 80% of the scholarship period, the scholarship recipient receives additional $1500 for the return ticket for the spouse and an additional 250$/month for the cost of living with one accompanying person or 350$/month if there are two or more accompanying persons. The stay at several universities or research centres cannot be funded from the scholarship. Neither can the medical research projects that involve direct contact with patients.

The interviews will take place in December 2012. The deadlines will be set by the selection committee. The scholarship winners will be announced in January 2013.
