7PR: Creative writing
The project "Creative writing as a tool in second language teaching" is a part of the 7th EU Framework Project and involves academics from the JU Institute of English Studies, the Strathclyde University in Glasgow, and the Institut Supérieur des Sciences Humaines in Tunis (ISSHT). The main goal of the project is to evaluate the effectiveness of the introduction of creative writing elements in the foreign language academic writing lessons in different cultural contexts. The project also involves the preparation of a corpus of comparable texts written by the students from Poland, Scotland, and Tunisia, to be used in the research into the number of subjects related to the lexical and phraseological competence in English as a foreign language, and the influence of a native language and culture on creating texts in a foreign language. The Polish participants in the project are Dr Justyna Leśniewska and Dr Ewa Witalisz from the JU Institute of English Studies.
