On 14 April 2012 an open lecture by Professor Wu Lan from the Beijing Language and Cultural Center for Diplomatic Missions: "Culture in China and Poland: differences, links, and similarities" was delivered in the JU Auditoriium Maximum.
Professor Wu Lan is a distinguished expert in Polish studies and a translator of many works of Polish literature into Chinese, including: The Captive Mind by Czesław Miłosz, The Emperor and Travels with Herodotus by Ryszard Kapuściński, and Zbigniew Herbert. Selected Poems.
